A party leader has expressed concern over the low voter turnout.
PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail (left) told Malaysiakini that the turnout for yesterday was between 15 and 20 percent.
It cannot yet be said that results reflect the voting patterns of PKR members, however, as only a small percentage of its 400,000 members have come out to vote for the party’s top leaders.
Saifuddin said voting has so far been carried out without incident.
As many as 32 divisions nationwide will be holding elections today: Kedah (2 divisions), Kelantan (5), Pahang (7), Negeri Sembilan (6), Perak (9) and Perlis (3).
